Corby McKenzie

Corby McKenzie was more than a firefighter, he was a brother, a mentor, and a man who truly lived for the job. From his early days as a volunteer at Magnolia Fire Department through his career at South Montgomery County Fire Department, Corby poured his heart into the fire service earning several Life Saving Awards. He believed in training hard, never cutting corners, and always having his crew’s back.  Even on his days off, he was working, learning, or helping others. His love for the fire service never wavered, even when he faced his toughest battle with cancer.

Corby’s legacy lives on in the firehouse, in the lives he touched, and in the lessons, he passed down. He may be gone, but his spirit will always be part of the brotherhood.” At 45 years of age, he passed from Occupational Hazards of Cancers. A life taken too soon.
